NaNo motivation (and some really cute kittens)

*edited. I don’t know why it didn’t post the most updated version, but…oh well.*

So, recently, I found myself far behind on my nanowrimo word count and really needed an extra boost to get myself going again. So, I fired up my iBook G4 and loaded a site called writtenkitten.net.

Best thing I ever could have done.

I can now contentedly look at my NaNo stats and relish in the fact that I’m STILL a bit ahead of my word count, even after 2 days of nothing.

Yes, yes, I’ll explain.

You see, whereas written kitten’s sister site, Write or Die, uses punishment (an alarming noise) to scare you into writing, writtenkitten.net uses a reward system. For every 100-1000 words you write, you get a new picture of a kitten.

Who doesn’t like kittens?

Plus, as an added bonus, you can use leftover sweets from Halloween/your last candy craving to add to your motivation.

So, to sum it up, you get a kitten, candy, and update your word count at the same time.

It’s a win-win-win situation.
